WhatsApp banned more than 71 lakh accounts in India, took action against breaking IT rules

In the User Safety Report, information is given about the complaints received from the users and the steps taken by WhatsApp on them.

Worldwide popular messaging service WhatsApp has banned about 71.1 lakh accounts in India during September. This service, controlled by American technology company Meta, has banned these accounts under IT rules. Out of these, WhatsApp itself banned about 25.7 lakh accounts before receiving any report from the users.

In the monthly report released by WhatsApp for the country, it has been said that in September, the company had received six orders from the Grievance Appellate Committee and all of them have been followed. Indian accounts on WhatsApp are identified by the country code '+91'. In the User Safety Report, information is given about the complaints received from the users and the steps taken by WhatsApp on them. Along with this, this report also contains details of the steps taken by WhatsApp to stop harassment on this messaging platform. WhatsApp in the country in August 74 Lakh accounts were banned. Of these, about 35 lakh accounts were blocked despite no reports being received from users.

It has been told in this report that in September, WhatsApp had received 10,442 reports from users. Of these, there were 7,396 reports related to the appeal of the ban. Recently WhatsApp started the channels feature. In this, users can share broadcasting or updates related to themselves with their followers or on their favorite WhatsApp.You can follow the channels. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also associated with this feature. His channel is followed by lakhs of users. This feature can be an important way for politicians to connect with people before the Lok Sabha elections next year.

This is a one-way broadcast tool. In this, users can send information related to themselves to their followers but cannot communicate directly with the followers. Text messages, photos, videos, stickers and polls can be sent through WhatsApp channel. This feature is available in a new tab called Updates. This feature is available for Android, iOS and desktop users.
